Introduce common school education policy in Telangana: TPTF

The Telangana Progressive Teachers Federation (TPTF) demanded the Congress government to introduce a common school education policy where children of ministers, collectors and attenders study in the same school.

In a meeting with the Telangana Education Commission chairman Akunuri Murali, TPTF president Y Ashok Kumar and general secretary P Nagi Reddy wanted the State government to reject the new national education policy, which was contrary to the constitutional objectives.

They demanded developments in modern scientific and technological fields be included in the school curriculum in accordance with the scientific education policy. They also demanded that one teacher be sanctioned for each class in primary schools, one room per class and a post of principal for each primary school.

Apart from linking pre-primary classes with primary schools, the teachers wanted appointment of a regular teacher trained in pre-primary education.

The TPTF also demanded the government not assign non-teaching work to teachers and wanted filling up of DEO, Dy.EO and MEO posts, who are supervisory officers.

TPTF additional general secretary M Ravinder, Upadhyaya Darsini chief editor M Prakash Rao, vice president Nanneboina Tirupati among others participated in the meeting.
