The Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) emphatic win in the 2024 Assembly elections has revitalized party supporters, erasing the disappointment of the previous Lok Sabha elections. Pankaj Kumar Agarwal, founder of the Ashok Foundation, stated on Saturday that this historic victory was the result of meticulous strategy, relentless efforts of party workers, and effective collaboration with allies and organizations.

Reflecting on the success, Agarwal emphasized that the BJP avoided the mistakes made during the Lok Sabha elections and instead focused on efficient planning and grassroots-level mobilization. He highlighted the significant role played by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), which provided open support to the BJP during the election campaign.

The RSS, through its affiliated and like-minded organizations, launched the ‘Sajag Raho’ (Stay Alert) campaign, which focused on voter education and uniting Hindu votes in favor of the BJP and its Mahayuti alliance in Maharashtra. The campaign reached voters at a micro level, emphasizing the need for unity among Hindutva forces, particularly after the challenges posed by vote divisions in the Lok Sabha elections and incidents of attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh.

Agarwal credited impactful slogans, such as Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s ‘If we divide, we will be cut off’ and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘If we are one, we will be safe’, for resonating deeply with voters. These messages were carried to every village, inspiring collective action and fostering a sense of unity.

Efforts to bridge caste divisions among Hindus and create a cohesive voting block were key to this victory. RSS volunteers and BJP workers collaborated with top leaders, ensuring effective communication and coordination at all levels. Their combined efforts underscored the protection of cultural and religious values while driving grassroots activism.
