Cockroach Discovered in Biryani at Hyderabad Restaurant in Banjara Hills
Hyderabad: A cockroach was reportedly found in biryani served at a restaurant in Banjara Hills, highlighting another hygiene concern. A Twitter user shared the incident on X, tagging the Commissioner of Food Safety, claiming that the dish served by the restaurant contained the insect. This is not the first hygiene issue to surface recently. In a similar incident, a blade was discovered in biryani served at a restaurant in Ghatkesar. Additionally, last month, three individuals fell ill after eating biryani and grilled chicken from a local restaurant, and a 23-year-old man was hospitalized after consuming chicken biryani at a popular Hyderabad eatery.
Despite many well-known restaurants maintaining clean dining areas, there have been consistent concerns regarding the cleanliness of kitchens and storerooms. The Food Safety Department's task force team has carried out raids at several well-known restaurants across Hyderabad, uncovering multiple violations, including improper storage in refrigerators. However, hygiene issues continue to emerge at numerous restaurants.
