HP: Two days nationwide bank strike starts in Hamirpur
Hamirpur (HP), Dec 16(UNI) Normal working in various nationalized banks came to a complete halt here on Thursday as the staff went on a two day nationwide strike protesting against the government’s move to privatize two public sector banks.
The strike call was given by the United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU).
A large number of customers were seen hankering here and there for their work and were told that they would have to wait for two more days.
Striking employees took out a procession through Hamirpur town, raising slogans in favor of their demands and also held a massive demonstration at Gandhi chowk.
While addressing a rally, the leaders of striking staff said that they would go for an indefinite strike if their demand were not met.
They blamed the BJP led central government for the current mess.
