Hyderabad: Thick Fog Causes Tragic Accident on Warangal-Hyderabad Highway

A dense fog caused a devastating accident on the Warangal-Hyderabad National Highway, claiming the lives of a mother and her young daughter. The tragedy occurred on Thursday morning, January 16, near Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, when reduced visibility led to a car colliding with a lorry.

The victims were identified as 28-year-old Anusha and her seven-year-old daughter Chaitra, residents of Venkatrantanda in Kesamudram mandal, Mahabubabad district. The family was traveling back to Hyderabad after celebrating Sankranti in their native village. Near Raigiri, their vehicle collided with the lorry at high speed due to poor visibility caused by the fog.

Two More Injured

Anusha's husband, Santosh Bhukya, and their elder daughter, Pranashwini, along with other relatives, were injured in the crash. The collision left the car’s occupants trapped for over 30 minutes, causing immense distress until rescue teams arrived and extricated them.

The injured were rushed to a hospital in Bhuvanagiri for treatment.
