Adv. Mir Qurram Ali Demands Justice for Urdu Medium Students in Telangana

Hyderabad, January 23, 2025: Adv. Mir Qurram Ali, the coordinator of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) student wing, BRSV, has made an earnest appeal to Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to address the ongoing issues faced by Urdu medium students in the state. He has called for immediate action to fill all unfilled Urdu medium teaching posts under DSC-2024 by converting them into open category vacancies.

In a statement, Adv. Mir Qurram Ali emphasized the need for justice and equality in the recruitment process, stating, "If democracy and justice truly exist in Telangana, then the government must take urgent measures to ensure that Urdu medium students are not deprived of quality education due to the lack of appointed teachers."

Highlighting the struggles faced by Urdu-speaking students, Ali pointed out that the failure to fill these posts has adversely affected their academic progress. He urged the government to intervene and take corrective measures to address this long-standing issue.

Furthermore, Adv. Mir Qurram Ali has called upon Congress MP Rahul Gandhi to visit Telangana and witness firsthand the challenges faced by the education sector. He criticized the current administration for failing to deliver on its promises and accused it of neglecting the educational needs of minority communities.

"We demand that Rahul Gandhi take note of the government's failure in Telangana and intervene to ensure that justice is served to the students who are being denied their fundamental right to education," he added.

The demand to de-reserve Urdu medium teacher posts has gained traction among various student groups and education activists, who believe that opening these positions to general candidates will help bridge the gap in the availability of qualified teachers.

The Telangana government is yet to respond to these demands, but pressure is mounting from different quarters to prioritize the needs of Urdu medium students and address the ongoing educational crisis in the state.
