Turkyanjal, JB Grounds –WUT
Former Minister and Member of Legislative Assembly, Harish Rao, attended the Telangana Champion Trophy Cricket Tournament at JB Grounds in Turkyanjal on Monday as the chief guest. The tournament, organized in honor of Telangana's martyrs, drew attention to the sacrifices made during the statehood movement, with Rao praising the event’s significance and congratulating BRS leader Narsing Rao for his continued efforts to commemorate these sacrifices each year.Speaking to the audience, Harish Rao expressed his pride in being part of a tournament that not only celebrates sports but also honors the martyrs who fought for the creation of Telangana. He noted, "It is heartening to be here today, remembering the martyrs who made Telangana possible. The BRS party remains the only one committed to honoring their sacrifices."
Rao also took the opportunity to highlight the development achieved under Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR). “Under KCR’s leadership, Telangana has emerged as a leader in multiple sectors including IT, agriculture, and finance. In just a decade, Telangana has established itself as number one in these areas, in stark contrast to the opposition's inability to deliver in governance,” he said. The former Minister also targeted Revanth Reddy, the leader of the opposition, for his leadership shortcomings, stating, "While KCR’s vision has propelled Telangana to great heights, Revanth Reddy’s 11-month tenure as Chief Minister has only seen a decline. Hyderabad, once an economic powerhouse, is now facing challenges under the opposition’s ineffective leadership."Harish Rao praised KCR’s various development projects, including the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project and efforts to clean the Musi River. "KCR’s projects like the Kaleshwaram irrigation and the Musi River cleaning initiative have transformed the state's infrastructure. The ₹1,100 crore Kaleshwaram project and the ₹3,800 crore Musi River rejuvenation project are testament to his commitment to the state’s progress," he added. The former Minister also addressed the opposition’s failed promises, particularly on the six guarantees announced by Revanth Reddy. "Promises like pension schemes, scholarships, and job creation have not been fulfilled under the opposition’s leadership. The youth of Telangana are being let down, especially when it comes to fee reimbursement and scholarship schemes that were implemented robustly under KCR’s government," Rao stated.Turning to the future, Rao emphasized the importance of youth engagement in sports and education. He encouraged students to focus on physical fitness, sports, and studies, rather than getting distracted by mobile phones and social media. "Physical and mental fitness are key to building a strong society. Sports like cricket, football, and volleyball will help our youth stay focused and contribute to Telangana’s continued progress."
Concluding his speech, Rao urged the audience to remain optimistic about the future of the state, reiterating, "The BRS party will continue to fight hard, and under KCR’s leadership, Telangana will regain its momentum. Victory for the people of Telangana is certain in the coming days."
