Suryapet: The civic authorities, backed by police, embarked on a demolition drive razing several structures built on government land in Huzurnagar on Wednesday.

Residents in occupation of structures staged a protest voicing their concern against the demolitions. The protesters, who questioned the rationale behind the demolition, expressed their frustration and anger.
