Bhairav Ashtami Festival 2024 Sets Two World Records in Neemuch
Event Breaks Records with 2,024 Types of Sweets and 84,000 sq. ft. Rangoli; Celebrates India’s Spiritual Heritage and Cultural Unity
The 2024 Bhairav Ashtami Festival, organized under the guidance of National Saint Dr. Vasant Vijay Ji Maharaj, Peethadhishwar of Parshva Padmavati Shakti Peeth Dham in Krishngiri, Tamil Nadu, has achieved two remarkable world records, marking a significant chapter in spiritual and cultural history.
A major highlight of this year’s festival was the offering of a record-breaking 2,024 types of sweets to Lord Bhairav, a feat that is set to be officially recognized by 50 distinguished organizations both in India and internationally. The immense collective effort behind this achievement underscores the devotion of the participants and their faith in Lord Bhairav.
In addition, the festival saw the creation of an extraordinary 84,000 sq. ft. Rangoli, an intricate design depicting India's rich cultural heritage, spiritual leaders, and national heroes. This stunning artistic accomplishment also secured its place in the record books, adding another layer of grandeur to the event.
Speaking at the festival, Dr. Vasant Vijay Ji Maharaj emphasized the significance of the Mahayagna and spiritual practices during Bhairav Ashtami, stating, "Through this grand celebration, we aim to invoke the blessings of Lord Bhairav, an embodiment of Lord Shiva, to protect India from potential economic crises and pandemics."
The festival also featured a unique 9-day Mahayagna, conducted by 46 scholar priests from Varanasi. The 8-pit Mahayagna, where one pit was tended by 11 priests and the others by 5 priests each, continued without interruption, reflecting the festival's deep spiritual commitment.
The event received strong support from local and state leaders, including Madhya Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Jagdish Devda, MPs C.P. Joshi and Sudhir Gupta from Neemuch-Mandsaur, Rajya Sabha MP Banshilal Gurjar, and several MLAs and dignitaries from across the state. Their involvement was key to the festival's success, which saw the active participation of civic and spiritual organizations.
The Bhairav Ashtami Festival 2024 not only stands as a celebration of India's spiritual fervor but also showcases the nation's unity, cultural pride, and unwavering dedication.
