Telangana Police Commissioner Announces Successful Training of Over 8,000 Constables

In a significant development for the Telangana Police Department, Commissioner of Police C.V. Anand announced that 8,047 constables have completed their training across the state. This includes 4,100 Civil, 3,695 Armed Reserve (AR), 2,028 Communications, and 18 Police Transport constables.

Speaking to the media on Thursday, Commissioner Anand revealed that out of the total trainees, 1,128 constables were assigned to the Hyderabad Police Department for specialized training. Of this, 747 constables participated in the Dikshat passing-out parade, while 3,081 women constables received police training.

Reflecting on his own experiences, Commissioner Anand recalled his 1992 IPS training, where he participated in a passing-out parade with 80 trainee IPS officers despite rain. He emphasized the importance of integrity, fairness, and constitutional adherence in police work, urging trained officers to serve the public with dedication and honor.

Anand further stated that police personnel must commit to a 35-year service, with a strong focus on maintaining physical fitness and avoiding any forms of addiction. He shared his personal example, noting that in his 33 years of service, he has maintained a healthy weight and is still able to wear his original police uniform.

The Commissioner also stressed the importance of integrity within the force, pointing out that while police salaries are gradually improving, corruption must be eradicated. "Even in roles like the IPS, salaries are limited, but the satisfaction of serving the people is invaluable," Anand remarked. He also added that police work is like a test cricket match, requiring patience and perseverance.

Meanwhile, the Telangana Police Academy hosted the fourth passing-out parade for constables, where Director General of Police (DGP) Jitender and other senior police officials were present as chief guests. The successful training of 8,047 Stipendiary Trainee Constables began on February 21, 2024, with the candidates receiving comprehensive training at 19 institutes across the state. Of the trainees, 5,709 were male, and 2,338 were female.

The constables were trained in various areas, including civil and criminal law, cybercrime, NDPS Act, crime prevention, and self-defense. Among the trainees, 5,470 had completed their graduation, 1,361 had postgraduate degrees, and there were 1,755 technical graduates, 5,505 non-technical graduates, and 15 law graduates.

As the constables graduate, they will now serve the citizens of Telangana, bringing their newly acquired skills to law enforcement across the state.
