Hyderabad: BRS Leader Errolla Srinivas Taken Into Custody

Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader Errolla Srinivas was detained by police at Masab Tank after failing to respond to notices regarding an investigation into a case of obstructing a policeman on duty. The case, registered at the Banjara Hills police station, led the authorities to visit his residence in West Marredpally to serve the notices, but Srinivas did not open the door.

Upon learning of the police action, a large number of BRS workers gathered at the location and confronted the officers, resulting in a verbal altercation. Following the commotion, the police apprehended Errolla Srinivas.

Condemning the incident, the BRS party compared the government’s actions to the Emergency period. The investigation is being overseen by the inspector of Masab Tank police station.

Notices Issued to Kaushik Reddy

The Banjara Hills police have also issued a notice to BRS MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy in connection with a case alleging obstruction of a government officer on duty. The police have directed Reddy to appear at the Jubilee Hills police station on Friday at 10 a.m.

A criminal case was registered against Kaushik Reddy, Manne Govardhan Reddy, and others for allegedly barging into the Banjara Hills police station, misbehaving with Inspector KM Raghavendra, and using abusive language to threaten him.

According to Raghavendra's complaint, he was preparing to leave the police station for emergency law-and-order duty when a white car blocked his vehicle. A group of around 20 to 30 individuals, led by Kaushik Reddy, approached his car, shouting and threatening him, saying, “Where are you going? Why are you running away? We will see how you can leave here.” They allegedly demanded he exit the vehicle and instructed their followers to block his car.

Despite attempts by the driver to honk and clear the path, the mob surrounded the car and banged on the windows, creating an intimidating scene.
