Asheesh Singh: A Cricketing Journey from Hyderabad to the USA
Cricket was more than just a passion for Asheesh Singh - it was his first love. Growing up in India, he spent countless hours playing gully cricket with friends. His talent and dedication earned him a spot at a summer camp in L.B. Stadium, where he met Coach Bandary Parmeshwar Reddy, an ICC Level-1 certified cricket coach.
Under Coach Parmesh's guidance, Asheesh honed his skills through rigorous training sessions, practice matches, and fitness drills. His hard work paid off when he played for the Hyderabad Cricket Association's A division team, excelling in one-day matches.
Asheesh's academic pursuits took him to the USA, where his love for cricket only grew stronger. He joined the St. Louis Americans club team in Chicago, coached by C.D. Thomson, and competed in tournaments featuring former and current international and List A players from India, Bangladesh, South Africa, and Pakistan.
Currently, Asheesh plays for the Cincinnati Cricket Club as a wicketkeeper and opening batsman. His impressive statistics include:
- Over 6,000 runs in 150 matches
- 1,378 runs in 28 innings in 2024, with a best score of 187 runs not out
- Top scorer in the tournament in 2024
Coach Parmeshwar Reddy, who played a pivotal role in Asheesh's cricketing journey, is presently working as a cricket coach at Delhi Public School (D.P.S) in Nanakramguda, Hyderabad, nurturing the talents of young cricketers.
