Hyderabad's Numaish Draws Record-Breaking Crowd on Sankranti Holiday
Hyderabad's iconic Numaish, organized by the All India Industrial Exhibition (AIIE) Society, experienced a record-breaking crowd on the Sankranti holiday. According to B. Surrender Reddy, the society's secretary, ticket sales have surged by over 25,000 compared to the same period last year.
73,000 Visitors on a Single Day
The exhibition attracted an impressive 73,000 visitors in just one day, making it the highest single-day turnout for this year’s event.
Stall Count and Applications
This year, the exhibition boasts around 2,200 stalls. The organizers received approximately 2,500 applications for stall spaces, underscoring the event's popularity among vendors.
Impact of E-Commerce on Numaish
Despite the growing dominance of e-commerce, Numaish continues to thrive. The convenience of online shopping has not affected the exhibition's business, as confirmed by B. Surrender Reddy, who stated that there is no visible impact on Numaish’s appeal or vendor sales.
To ensure visitor safety, the organizers have implemented extensive security arrangements, including CCTV surveillance, security personnel, an on-site police station, and robust fire safety protocols.
Numaish remains a testament to Hyderabad's vibrant culture and a beloved tradition that continues to attract thousands each year.
