BRS Student wing BRSV Leaders Stage Protest at Gandhi Hospital, Hyderabad, Over Unfulfilled Promises by Congress Government

On Thursday, leaders of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) staged a dharna at the Mahatma Gandhi statue in front of Gandhi Hospital, Hyderabad, protesting the Congress government's failure to deliver on its “420 promises” made during the assembly elections. The protest coincided with the completion of 420 days of the Congress-led government in power and also marked the death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.

BRS State President Gellu Srinivas Yadav, Vice President Thopga Bahalo, and several other party leaders participated in the demonstration. They submitted a petition at the Gandhi statue, calling out the government's unfulfilled promises.

Addressing the gathering, BRS leaders emphasized the Congress party’s election promises, particularly the six guarantees that were supposed to be implemented within the first 100 days of coming to power. According to the protesters, the government had failed to fulfill these commitments, which has led to growing dissatisfaction among the people.

“The Congress government’s failure to keep its promises has hurt the common people, especially the poor and farmers,” said BRS GHMC Coordinator Mir Qurram Ali. He further criticized the Congress leadership, accusing them of deflecting attention from their shortcomings by attacking opposition parties instead of focusing on addressing the pressing issues of the state.

The protest was not limited to Hyderabad, as similar demonstrations were held across various districts, in line with the call given by BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao. Petitions were submitted at Gandhi statues in other areas, reinforcing the party’s demand for accountability from the Congress government.

BRS leaders have vowed to continue their agitation until the government addresses their concerns and fulfills its promises.
