Hyderabad: A large group of residents in Ameenpur, Hyderabad, held a rally on Sunday, January 26, demanding urgent road repairs. The locals gathered in large numbers, chanting "We want roads" as they voiced their frustration over the poor condition of the roads in their area.

For over seven years, Ameenpur residents have been requesting road repairs, but the situation has worsened. The delay in constructing a new road along the Ameenpur stretch has left the area filled with potholes, creating significant hardships for both residents and commuters.

While road repair work was initiated before the monsoons in 2024, only 40% of the work was completed before it was halted. Frustrated by the lack of progress, some residents expressed their dismay at the state government's failure to address the issue.

“The work was abruptly stopped, and when we asked officials from Ameenpur Municipality, they said it was due to insufficient funds,” one resident said. “This has caused severe disruptions in traffic flow. The absence of proper road dividers has only made matters worse, making travel even more difficult for commuters.”
