In a tragic incident, a couple lost their lives in a road accident when their car was struck by a bus while returning from a pilgrimage, leaving their elder daughter fighting for life and two younger children orphaned.
The accident occurred on January 20, Monday, on the *Renigunta-Kadapa highway* in *Tirupati district.* The victims, *Sandeep Shah* (45) and *Anjali Devi* (40), along with their three children, were returning home to *Patancheru,* *Sangareddy district,* after visiting religious sites in *Tirupathi, Tiruchanur, Arunachalam,* and *Kanipakam.*
As their car reached *Kukkaladoddi*, a private tourist bus collided with their vehicle, resulting in the deaths of Sandeep and Anjali. Their elder daughter, *Chanchala Shah*, sustained critical injuries, while their younger children, *Sonali Shah* and *Rudrapratap Shah*, suffered minor injuries.
Reports suggest that despite having a driver, *Naresh Kumar*, with them, the accident occurred when Sandeep took over the wheel after asking the driver to sit in the rear seat.
Sandeep’s parents had migrated to Patancheru from *Bihar* in search of work. Sandeep had been supporting his family through his business and lived in an apartment in *Seetarampuram colony,* Patancheru.
This devastating accident has left the children without parents and has deeply impacted the local community. Authorities are investigating the cause of the collision.
