Saif Ali Khan Stabbing Incident: Actor Stable After Surgery, Recovering in ICU
Mumbai: Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was attacked with a 2.5-inch knife during an attempted burglary at his Bandra residence on Thursday, January 16. The assailant reportedly entered through the room of Saif’s youngest son, Jeh, and attacked the house help before Saif intervened. As per media reports, doctors successfully removed the knife from the actor’s wound, and he has since undergone surgery.
The incident occurred around 2:30 am, when Saif was awakened by the commotion in Jeh’s room. Upon investigating, he found the assailant arguing with the house help and immediately attempted to intervene. In the process, Saif sustained multiple stab wounds, including two serious ones near his spine. He was immediately admitted to the hospital, where a team of doctors performed surgery to remove the knife lodged in his spine and repair the leaking spinal fluid.
Dr. Nitin Dange, a member of the medical team, shared details of the actor’s condition, saying, “Saif Ali Khan was admitted around 2:00 am, with a major injury to the thoracic spinal cord due to the knife lodged in his spine. Surgery was performed to remove the knife and repair the leaking spinal fluid. Two other deep wounds on his left hand and neck were treated by the plastic surgery team. He is stable now and recovering well.”
The actor, who was initially in critical condition, has now been shifted to the ICU and is reported to be out of danger. An official statement from Saif’s team confirmed that he is recovering well, with continuous monitoring by medical professionals.

The family has expressed gratitude towards the medical team at Lilavati Hospital, thanking Dr. Niraj Uttamani, Dr. Nitin Dange, and Dr. Leena Jain for their prompt care. The statement also thanked fans and well-wishers for their support and prayers during this challenging time.
