Telangana police refuse permission for BRS farmers' protest in Nalgonda
**Hyderabad:** The Telangana police have denied permission to Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) to hold a farmers' protest in Nalgonda on Tuesday, January 21.
Despite the refusal, the BRS remains determined to proceed with the protest and has announced plans to approach the Telangana High Court for permission. Party leaders have also warned that they will turn gram sabhas across Telangana into protest sites starting Tuesday.
On Monday, KTR criticized the Telangana government for not implementing the promised farm loan waiver. He also took aim at the Congress, accusing it of failing to fulfill the commitments made to the people during the Telangana Assembly election campaign.
On January, 17 KTR attacked Telangana CM Revanth Reddy over non-payment of loan waiver for farmers during a Maha Dharna in Chevella. Speaking at a massive protest gathering organised by farmers and the BRS in Sabad of Chevella Mandal, KTR came down heavily on the Revanth Reddy government and said the chief minister made the people settle for just the free bus ride scheme while keeping many of his electoral promises remain unfulfilled.
KTR alleged that half of the six electoral promises made by Congress remain unfulfilled, which Revanth Reddy had promised to implement within 100 days of taking over as the chief minister.
