Mega Blood Donation Camp Held in Hyderabad to Honor Dr. B.R. Ambedkar & Mahatma Jyotirao Phule
Hyderabad, April 11, 2025 — In a heartfelt tribute marking the birth anniversaries of two great social reformers—Dr. B.R. Ambedkar (14th April) and Mahatma Jyotirao Phule (11th April)—a Mega Blood Donation Camp was organized today by the Telangana Non-Gazetted Officers' (TNGOs) Central Union under the leadership of Shri Maram Jagdeshwar and Dr. S.M. Hussaini (Mujeeb), along with the Executive Members of the Hyderabad District.
Held at the Gruhakalpa Complex, TNGOs Union Office, Nampally, the event witnessed enthusiastic participation from government employees across various departments. The initiative aimed to honor the values of social justice, equality, and service—principles that both Dr. Ambedkar and Mahatma Phule championed throughout their lives.
The Chief Guest, Shri Gaddam Prasad Kumar Garu, Hon'ble Speaker of the Telangana Legislative Assembly, addressed the gathering, stating, "Dr. Ambedkar's life was dedicated to the upliftment of the marginalized and the creation of a just society. This blood donation camp reflects his ideals and the power of unity for a common good."
Joining him, Janab Md. Faheemuddin Qureshi, Vice President & President of TRMIES, MLC Shri Kodandaram, and Janab Amir Javed emphasized the importance of collective efforts in building a compassionate and healthy society.
The blood donation drive was conducted in collaboration with prominent medical institutions and blood banks including MNJ, Osmania General Hospital (OGH), King Koti Hospital, Institute of Preventive Medicine (IPM), and the Thalassemia & Sickle Cell Society. Trained medical professionals oversaw donor screenings and post-donation care to ensure a safe and hygienic process.
The camp saw a notable turnout, including dignitaries and office bearers such as Gazetted President Elluri Srinivas, Central Union Associate Presidents Shri M. Satyanarayana Goud, Kasturi Venkateshwar, Members Kondal Reddy, Goverdhan Reddy, Smt. Uma Reddy, Sri Murali Raj, Boligidda Shankar, and several district-level leaders from Adilabad, Rangareddy, Nizamabad, Mahabubnagar, Karimnagar, and Nagarkurnool. VRO President Golconda Satish, City Unit President K. Srikanth, and Secretary Harikrishna also played key roles in organizing the camp.
Other notable participants included Medical Forum members Kiran Reddy, Satyanarayana Reddy, Mrs. Seema Mujeeb, Syed Asaduddin, and Syed Jamal Jahanger, along with community supporters like Amjad Ali, Osman Ali Osmani, and Basheer Bhai. Retired government employees such as G. Prabhakar, Devender, Smt. Janaki, and Sri Mohan also lent their support.
In a collective message, the TNGOs Union expressed deep gratitude to all volunteers, medical staff, and government employees who contributed to the success of the camp. The blood collected will aid patients across the region, extending the message of service and humanity promoted by Dr. Ambedkar and Mahatma Phule.
The event stood as a powerful reminder that the legacies of our great leaders continue to inspire acts of compassion and collective responsibility even today.
