A major explosion rocked the premier explosives facility in Pedda Kandukuru, Yadagirigutta Mandal, on Saturday, January 4. The blast claimed the life of one worker, identified as Kanakayya, who succumbed to his injuries during treatment, and left at least seven others injured.
The incident occurred when a reactor exploded, producing a loud noise that sent workers fleeing in panic. Following the blast, the company management immediately activated an emergency siren to alert personnel.
The explosion's intensity caused the building to collapse, prompting a swift response from emergency services. The injured workers were rushed to a hospital in Bhuvanagiri for medical attention.
This is not the first incident at the facility; a similar explosion previously claimed another worker's life. Among the injured, Kanakayya and Prakash are reported to be in critical condition, with their health status closely monitored.
