In a daring heist in Pitlam town, Kamareddy district, Telangana, thieves targeted a State Bank of India (SBI) ATM early on January 12. The culprits used a gas cutter to break into the machine and made off with approximately ₹17 lakh in cash.
Reports suggest that one of the robbers entered the ATM wearing a mask and sprayed over the CCTV camera to conceal their identity. This calculated move enabled the theft to go undetected by surveillance systems.
Local police were promptly alerted and arrived at the scene to investigate. They are currently reviewing CCTV footage from the vicinity in an effort to identify the suspects.
Authorities have urged residents to report any information about suspicious individuals or activities in the area to assist in the investigation.
