Synergy Marine Group Wins Crewing Company of the Year

New delhi: Synergy Marine Group has been awarded the prestigious Crewing Company of the Year title at the 11th International Samudra Manthan Awards 2024, held on November 21 at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai. The recognition was granted in acknowledgment of Synergy's exemplary response to the DALI incident and its ongoing commitment to seafarers' welfare, innovation, and sustainability.

On March 26, the crew of the DALI faced a challenging situation following an incident near the Francis Scott Key Bridge. Synergy’s Emergency Response Team acted swiftly and transparently, collaborating with authorities and prioritizing crew welfare. Immediate medical assistance was provided to an injured crew member, with support from the Indian Embassy in Washington, D.C. In addition, Synergy ensured that family members in India and Sri Lanka received continuous updates during this difficult time.

Further demonstrating its dedication, Synergy deployed additional personnel on board the vessel and facilitated regular communication between the crew and their families. These actions helped maintain morale and unity both on board and ashore. To this day, 11 crew members remain in Baltimore to assist with the ongoing investigation, with Synergy ensuring their well-being through serviced accommodations and regular check-ins.

The award highlights Synergy's broader efforts in crew management, including initiatives like Kaushal Vikas ("Skill Development"), which focuses on upskilling seafarers, and Harit Sagar Surakshit Sagar ("Green Ocean, Safe Sea"), promoting sustainable shipping practices and maritime security. These efforts align with the Samudra Manthan Awards’ criteria for excellence in crewing and underscore Synergy’s commitment to the welfare of its workforce and the maritime industry.

Captain Vivek Bhandarkar, CEO of Bhandarkar Publications, commended Synergy’s response, noting the company’s compassion, determination, and collaboration, which set a new benchmark for crew management excellence.

In a statement, Captain Anshul Rajvanshi, Managing Director of Synergy Maritime Recruitment Services Private Limited (SMRSPL), expressed gratitude for the award, emphasizing the dedication of over 26,000 Synergy seafarers worldwide. “This recognition reaffirms our steadfast focus on crew welfare and operational excellence,” he said.

Maneesh Pradhan, Managing Director of SMRSPL, added, “This accolade is a testament to the hard work and resilience of our team, both at sea and ashore. It also reflects the trust between our partners, crew, and Synergy, and we are grateful for the unwavering support from the Ministry of External Affairs, the Indian Embassy, and the Director General of Shipping.”
