KEF Launches Digital English Program for Students Across Four States
Kotak Education Foundation Launches Innovative Communicative English Program for Teachers and Students in Four States
The Kotak Education Foundation (KEF), the CSR arm of Kotak Mahindra Group, has introduced a transformative Communicative English Future Readiness (CE-FR) program aimed at middle-school students in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, and Goa. The initiative, available through the Foundation’s web application ‘One KEF’ on Android platforms, provides digitized content designed to address the challenges faced by students from vernacular-medium schools with limited English exposure.
Aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP), the program focuses on improving English-speaking skills, an essential tool for success in today’s globalized world. The CE-FR content is designed to be interactive and accessible to both teachers and students, enhancing learning outcomes through a flexible, engaging, and customizable approach.
Ms. Jayasree Ramesh, Director of Education & Scholarships at KEF, emphasized that the program not only teaches English but also empowers students with 21st-century skills, including critical thinking, problem-solving, and digital literacy. “This is a passport to global opportunities,” she said, highlighting the program's role in fostering socio-emotional learning and global citizenship.
The CE-FR curriculum integrates multidisciplinary learning, combining language development with subjects like science and arts. The content also includes collaborative projects, fostering communication, collaboration, and digital literacy among students. Over the past 17 years, KEF has impacted over 50,000 students through its communicative English initiatives, with the new program offering a three-year journey from foundational language skills to advanced proficiency.
This innovative approach ensures wider access to quality education, especially in underserved regions, making it a significant step toward future readiness for students across India.
