VSD Demands CBI Enquiry into NEET 2024 Irregularities

Hyderabad / Delhi

In a move to protect the integrity of the NEET 2024 examination and the future of aspiring medical students, Vidyarthi Seva Dal (VSD) has raised serious concerns and demanded an immediate CBI enquiry into numerous irregularities observed in the recent examination.

VSD has brought to light several alarming issues that have caused widespread distress among NEET aspirants. These include:

  1. Statistically Questionable Scores: Reports indicate that an unusual number of students scored 718 and 719 marks. The distribution of these scores, along with the allocation of grace marks, lacks transparency. VSD questions the logic behind these scores and demands an official list detailing the grace marks distribution.

  2. Paper Leakage: There have been multiple credible reports of NEET 2024 papers being leaked in various locations. Despite the gravity of these allegations, no significant actions have been taken to address this breach of examination integrity. VSD insists on a thorough investigation to ensure accountability and prevent future occurrences.

  3. Grace Marks Provision: The provision of grace marks due to time wastage was introduced after the examination without prior notice in the information bulletin. This sudden rule change has caused confusion and anxiety among students. VSD calls for clarity and justification regarding this decision.

  4. Discrepancies in Scorecards and OMR Sheets: Numerous students have reported significant discrepancies between their scorecards and OMR sheets. These inconsistencies are not related to the provision of grace marks, as they affect students from centers where grace marks were not awarded. This raises serious concerns about the accuracy and fairness of the scoring process.

  5. Unprecedented Perfect Scores: An unprecedented total of 67 students achieved a perfect score of 720 out of 720. Historically, only a handful of students attain such scores. Moreover, a suspicious concentration of perfect scores from a single center in Haryana further raises doubts about the authenticity of these results.

In response to these serious concerns, VSD demands a re-evaluation of the NEET 2024 examination and a comprehensive CBI enquiry to ensure fairness and justice for all students. The organization emphasizes the necessity of transparent and immediate action to maintain the credibility of the examination process and restore the trust of the student community.

VSD urges all stakeholders, including students, parents, and educators, to join them in advocating for justice and transparency. The future of India’s aspiring medical professionals hinges on the integrity of the NEET examination system.
