HYDRAA resumes demolition exercise, razes unauthorised structures on Hyd outskirts

Hyderabad, September 8, 2024 — Rein Bazar Corporator Mohammed Wasey, working in conjunction with GHMC officials, has addressed public concerns in Gangana Nagar Nala, Yakutpura, following severe waterlogging and disruptions caused by recent heavy rains. The team conducted an on-site inspection and has started clearing debris, repairing damage, and enhancing drainage capacity. Residents have praised the quick response and are hopeful that these actions will prevent future issues. GHMC also plans to upgrade the city's drainage infrastructure to better manage extreme weather events.

In Dundigal, authorities have begun demolishing structures built in the Full Tank Level (FTL) of Mallampet Cheruvu. In Madhapur, demolition is underway at Sunam Cheruvu, and a similar operation is in progress at Ameenpur Lake in Sangareddy district.

Local police are providing support by managing security during these operations. Authorities have identified hundreds of unauthorized structures in the FTL and buffer zones of lakes in both the city and its suburbs.
