Isuzu Motors India Marks Major Milestone with One Lakh Vehicle Rollout from Sri City Facility
Isuzu Motors India has achieved a significant milestone, rolling out its one lakhth vehicle from its state-of-the-art manufacturing plant in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh. The milestone was commemorated with the rollout of the Isuzu D-MAX V-Cross, a model renowned for its durability and reliability. This achievement highlights Isuzu’s growing commitment to the Indian market and its expanding footprint in the automotive sector.
The milestone event was attended by Dr. N. Yuvaraj, Secretary to Government, Industries Commerce & Food Processing Department, Andhra Pradesh, who served as the chief guest. Other dignitaries included Dr. Ravindra Sannareddy, Founder & MD of Sri City, and Makoto Sado, Chairman of the Sri City Japanese Company Group.
Since beginning operations in 2016, Isuzu Motors India has seen remarkable growth. The company launched its Phase-II operations in 2020, expanding its manufacturing capabilities with a new Press Shop facility and an engine assembly plant. Over 1.4 million pressed parts have been produced at the facility, contributing to the overall growth of Isuzu’s production capabilities.
In the last two years, the company has successfully doubled both vehicle and engine production, meeting increasing market demand while maintaining Isuzu’s renowned global quality standards. This growth aligns with Isuzu’s long-term ‘Make in India’ strategy, focusing on strengthening the company’s operations for the domestic market and expanding its global presence.
Rajesh Mittal, President & Managing Director of Isuzu Motors India, expressed pride in the company’s progress, noting that around 22% of the production workforce comprises talented women. He also highlighted that 100% of the workforce is comprised of diploma engineers, reinforcing Isuzu’s commitment to operational excellence. Mittal emphasized that the company’s dedication to diversity and quality has enabled Isuzu to become a leading exporter of commercial vehicles from India.
Toru Kishimoto, Deputy Managing Director of Isuzu Motors India, echoed this sentiment, stating that the milestone reflects the trust customers place in Isuzu’s reliable and versatile vehicles. He reaffirmed the company’s commitment to the Indian market, which is seen as a key growth area for Isuzu.
In addition to increasing production, Isuzu Motors India has expanded its reach across the country. Moving forward, the company plans to increase its customer touchpoints to enhance the ownership experience and continue its growth trajectory in both the domestic and international markets.
