Hyderabad: Allu Arjun to Make Virtual Appearance Before Nampally Court
Tollywood actor Allu Arjun is scheduled to make a virtual appearance before the Nampally court on Friday, December 27, as his 14-day judicial remand comes to an end. This development follows his arrest in connection with a tragic stampede that occurred during the premiere of his film *Pushpa 2* at the Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad on December 4.
The stampede claimed the life of a 35-year-old woman, Revathi, and left her 13-year-old son, Sreetej, critically injured. Allu Arjun’s legal team had requested permission for him to attend the court proceedings online instead of in person, a request the presiding judge granted.
Interim Bail and Security Measures
The Telangana High Court had previously granted interim bail to Allu Arjun in this case. His lawyers are expected to present this information to the Nampally court. Initially, city police had implemented heightened security measures at the court, anticipating his physical presence.
Stampede at Sandhya Theatre
The tragic stampede occurred on December 4 during the highly anticipated premiere of *Pushpa 2*. The event drew a massive crowd, eager to catch a glimpse of the actor. The chaos escalated as fans surged forward, leading to the collapse of the theatre gates and resulting in the fatal incident.
Following the incident, Allu Arjun was arrested on December 13 and later released on bail after posting a bond. The actor extended his condolences to Revathi’s family and pledged support, but the tragedy has ignited widespread criticism.
Controversy and Criticism
Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has openly criticized Allu Arjun and the theatre management, accusing them of negligence. He pointed out that police had previously denied permission for the event due to safety concerns, citing poor planning and lack of accountability.
As investigations continue, legal proceedings against Allu Arjun and his security team for culpable homicide not amounting to murder remain ongoing. The case has raised questions about event management and the responsibility of public figures in ensuring crowd safety.
