BRSV Coordinator ADV Mir Qurram Ali Strongly Condemns Illegal Arrest of Dr. Errolla Srinivas

BRSV GHMC Coordinator, Advocated Mir Qurram Ali, has vehemently condemned the illegal arrest of former SC/ST Commission Chairman, Dr. Errolla Srinivas. Speaking out against this unwarranted action, Qurram Ali emphasized that no case had been registered and no notice had been issued prior to the arrest, labeling it as an unlawful attempt to silence those questioning the government’s unfulfilled promises to the poor, farmers, and women.

“Why are the police raiding homes violently in the early hours under the pretext of issuing notices?” Qurram Ali asked, highlighting the fear instilled in the families of those being targeted. He accused the Congress government, led by Revanth Reddy, of resorting to illegal arrests to suppress dissent and divert attention from the failure to fulfill key electoral promises.

Mir Qurram Ali drew a parallel between Revanth Reddy’s leadership and the authoritarian practices during Indira Gandhi’s Emergency rule, asserting that the government is using unlawful means to address growing public discontent. “Unable to fulfill the six guarantees and 13 promises, they are using illegal arrests to distract from their failures,” he said.

Qurram Ali called for the immediate release of Dr. Errolla Srinivas, a prominent leader from the backward classes, and demanded that intellectuals across the state raise their voices in condemnation of this illegal action. He also questioned the silence of past advocates for accountability, including Kodandaram, Akunooru Murali, and Raghu, asking why they were not speaking out against the arrest of a genuine leader.

“We will not fear such unlawful arrests,” Qurram Ali declared. “You will face consequences in the public arena. We demand the immediate and unconditional release of Errolla Srinivas from this unjust detention.”
