Gurugram:
Hyundai Motor India Foundation (HMIF), the corporate social responsibility (CSR) arm of Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL), has announced the 50 grantees for its flagship program, ‘Art for Hope’ 2025. The initiative, aimed at supporting creativity and innovation in the arts, will provide a consolidated grant of INR 60 lakhs to help selected artists and collectives bring their projects to life.
This year, HMIF received 521 applications from artists and art collectives across 15 states, showcasing diverse art forms, including digital, functional, performance, traditional, visual, and multidisciplinary themes. Following a rigorous evaluation process, 50 exceptional grantees, including five artists with special needs, were selected to receive financial support and mentorship.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Puneet Anand, Vertical Head - Corporate Communication & Social at HMIL, said, “Art expresses what words cannot. The ‘Art for Hope’ initiative celebrates creativity, expression, and resilience. Over four seasons, we have grown significantly, from awarding 25 grants across 10 states in Season 1 to 50 grants across 15 states in Season 4. We are committed to nurturing talent and fostering a vibrant creative ecosystem to preserve the essence of art for generations to come.”
The grantees were selected during a jury meet held on November 19, 2024, featuring a distinguished panel of experts from the fields of art, culture, and journalism. The jury included Mr. Nikhil Chawla, senior journalist specializing in technology and lifestyle; Padmashri Geeta Chandran, renowned Bharatanatyam dancer and Carnatic vocalist; and Mr. Aditya Arya, Founder and Director of Museo Camera Center for Photographic Arts. Their expertise played a crucial role in identifying proposals aligned with the program’s vision of fostering creativity and sparking meaningful conversations.
