BRSV Accuses Congress of Repressive Tactics Under the Veil of Governance
Hyderabad: In a bold and fierce attack on the Congress government, BRSV
State General Secretary Kattan Shiva condemned the ongoing crackdown on the opposition and accused the ruling party of resorting to repressive tactics reminiscent of the Emergency era under Indira Gandhi. Speaking at a protest held at Osmania University’s Arts College, Shiva expressed outrage over the illegal arrests of senior BRS leaders, asserting that Congress is determined to silence any voices questioning their governance.
Shiva alleged that the Congress party is deeply fearful of the growing influence of the BRS and is resorting to authoritarian measures to suppress political dissent. “The Congress government is so afraid of the BRS that they are using illegal arrests and fabricated charges to try and intimidate us,” he said. “This is a direct attack on democracy and the people’s right to voice their concerns. It is nothing less than a repeat of the Emergency period.”
The BRS leader accused Congress of deliberately targeting opposition leaders who dare to raise their voices against the government’s failures. Shiva emphasized that these actions are part of a broader strategy to prevent the truth from reaching the people. He boldly declared that no matter how many cases are filed against BRS leaders, the party would continue to expose the Congress party’s corruption and mismanagement.
"The Congress is trying to silence us because they know that we will relentlessly bring their failures to light," Shiva stated. "This is not governance; this is dictatorship in the guise of people’s rule."
Shiva also criticized Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, accusing him of using police forces to maintain an iron grip on power. “Instead of celebrating democratic victories, this government is celebrating repression. If the Congress continues to suppress the opposition, they will be held accountable,” he warned.
The BRS leader further claimed that Congress is resorting to these extreme measures because they are afraid of being exposed in the upcoming Assembly sessions. “Congress is terrified of the truth. That’s why they are targeting our leaders with false cases. But we won’t back down. We will take every opportunity to hold the government accountable in the Assembly,” he asserted.
Shiva made it clear that the BRS would not be intimidated and vowed to continue fighting for the rights of the people. “If Congress continues its authoritarian tactics, we will not hesitate to disrupt the Assembly sessions. We will make sure that the truth is heard, no matter the cost,” he declared.
The protest saw the participation of several prominent BRS leaders, including Ashok Yadav, Rambabu, Mallesha Mudiraju, and Surya Prakash, who all voiced their solidarity with Shiva’s remarks and reiterated their commitment to challenging the Congress government’s oppressive actions.
As tensions escalate, the BRS has vowed to intensify its efforts in exposing the Congress government’s misdeeds, pledging to fight for the restoration of democracy and transparency in Telangana.
