Samsung Unveils One UI 7 with Advanced Security for AI Era
Samsung Enhances Security with One UI 7, Prioritizing Privacy in the AI Era
New Delhi: Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. has unveiled its latest software innovation, One UI 7, introducing enhanced security and privacy features tailored for the AI-powered age. The update promises increased transparency and control for users while bolstering protection across Samsung Galaxy devices.
Knox Matrix: Redefining Security for Connected Devices
At the core of the update is Knox Matrix, Samsung’s advanced security framework. Designed for a hyperconnected world, Knox Matrix uses a private blockchain, Trust Chain, to monitor and safeguard devices. A newly introduced Knox Matrix dashboard offers users a centralized view of security across their Samsung ecosystem — from Galaxy smartphones to smart TVs and appliances.
Devices are flagged with a green status when secure, and actionable alerts guide users to address potential threats. Additionally, the Enhanced Data Protection feature simplifies data recovery, allowing users to securely transfer private data to new devices by verifying their previous lock screen credentials.
Knox Matrix also introduces passkeys, enabling seamless and secure login experiences across devices. Users can now log in to apps, websites, and smart appliances using biometric authentication, such as a fingerprint scan, for faster and more secure access.
Maximum Restrictions: Empowering User Control
Samsung’s Maximum Restrictions feature gets a significant upgrade in One UI 7, strengthening defenses against cyber threats. New network controls enable users to block 2G connections and prevent unintended reconnections to potentially insecure Wi-Fi networks.
The update also extends protections to shared content. Users can now remove location data from photos, block automatic attachment downloads, and disable hyperlinks and previews in Samsung Messages and Gallery.
Expanded Security Features for Greater Protection
One UI 7 introduces Safe Install, a system that works with Auto Blocker to warn users about risks when downloading apps from unauthorized sources, reducing the likelihood of malicious software infiltrating devices.
Additionally, a new USB-blocking option allows users to restrict access through USB ports while their device is locked, ensuring enhanced safety from unauthorized connections.
Theft Protection: Reinforced Safeguards
To protect personal data in cases of loss or theft, One UI 7 offers advanced Theft Protection measures. New features like Identity Check ensure biometric authentication is required for critical security changes in unfamiliar locations. Furthermore, a mandatory one-hour delay for altering key security settings prevents unauthorized tampering.
Availability and Rollout
Samsung’s One UI 7 beta program will be available for Galaxy S24 series devices in select markets, including Germany, India, Korea, Poland, the UK, and the US, starting December 5. The official release will debut with Galaxy S series devices in the first quarter of 2025, incorporating AI-driven enhancements and extending to other Galaxy devices under Samsung’s OS upgrade policy.
With One UI 7, Samsung reinforces its commitment to user privacy and security, ensuring a safer experience in today’s AI-driven world.
