Mah: Authorities in Aurangabad implement strict measure against those not yet vaccinated
Aurangabad, Dec 16 (UNI) The Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) administration has so far collected fines worth Rs 18,500 from 37 citizens for not getting themselves vaccinated with the second dose of COVID-19 vaccine.
It may noted that that on the backdrop of possible spread of the new Omicron vairant of COVID-19 the district and civic administration has decided to impose fines upon those who were not taking their second dose of the vaccine.
The Civic administration has deployed 15 squads namely 'Nagari Mitra Patak' across the city .
On the first day on Wednesday the Civic teams inspected different locations across the city and collected fines of Rs 500 each from 37 persons including 17 women and 20 men those who had not taken their second dose of the COVID vaccine, said official sources late last night.
According to the civic administration, so far 80.35 percent and 45.07 percent people have been vaccinated with the first and second dose respectively.
To increase percentage of vaccination several strong measures has been taken by the administration.
Meanwhile, city police has busted a racket of issuing fake certificates of vaccination to people by charging Rs 500 to Rs 2000 each and arrested four persons including a doctor.
