Shia and Sunni Muslims in Hyderabad Hold Protest Against Sectarian Violence in Pakistan and Killing of Shaheed Haniya Gaza Leader of Palestine

*Hyderabad**: In a strong show of unity and condemnation, Shia and Sunni Muslims in Hyderabad organized a protest to denounce the recent sectarian violence in Pakistan and the killing of Shaheed Haniya, a leader from Palestine. The protest was a response to the targeted killings of Shias in Parachinar town, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Pakistan. Demonstrators were vocal, chanting slogans such as "Pakistan Murdabad" to express their outrage over the week-long violence that claimed the lives of dozens of Shias.

The protest was further fueled by the assassination of Hamas’s political chief, Ismail Haniyeh, in Tehran. According to a statement from Hamas, Haniyeh and one of his bodyguards were killed when the building they were in was struck, an attack the group attributes to Israel. This incident added to the protestors' fervor, intertwining concerns over sectarian violence and geopolitical conflicts.

Prominent figures in the protest included Mir Inayat Ali Baqri, Chairman of Kul Hind Tazim-e-Alavi, Mir Qurram Ali, President of Kul Hind Tazim-e-Alavi, Maulana Jaffer Hussain Qilji, a respected Shia scholar, and Syed Shabbir Hussain Abedi. The event was orchestrated by Azmath Jafferi, President of the Telangana Shia Youth Welfare Association, with support from other Muslim scholars and leaders.

The rally commenced from Dargah Ibna Qaton Purani Haveli and moved to Alawa-e-Sadaq-e-Mubarak Darushifa playground in Hyderabad, symbolizing a unified stance against violence and injustice.
