Telangana Journalist and Reporter Association Holds Key Appointment Ceremony

Sheen Nagar, Telangana – August 12, 2024** – The Telangana Journalist and Reporter Association (TJRA) held an important appointment ceremony at Sheen Model High School in Sheen Nagar, Rangan Reddy district. This event marked a significant milestone for local media professionals as they united to push for enhanced media rights and protections.

**In his address, TJRA Chairman Mir Inyath Ali Baqri underscored the transformative power of media.** "We need change, and media is the platform that can effect this change," Baqri declared. He announced the opening of a new TJRA office within the ILWF hub, a center designed to facilitate collaboration among NGOs and associations.

**TJRA President Mir Qurram Ali echoed these sentiments, stressing the need for legal protections for journalists.** "Media personnel should be afforded the same safety and benefits as doctors, police, and government employees," Ali asserted. He pointed out that despite media being a fundamental pillar of democracy, journalists often lack adequate support and benefits.

The TJRA is advocating for government recognition of digital media, the issuance of accreditation cards, and substantial discounts on educational and healthcare services for media personnel. "We stand united in our quest for justice and support for journalists and the broader community," Ali emphasized.
