Hyundai Expands Telemedicine Access in Ladakh and J&K
Hyundai Motor India Foundation Expands Healthcare Access with 5 New Telemedicine Centres
Hyundai Motor India Foundation (HMIF), the corporate social responsibility arm of Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL), has launched 5 new Telemedicine Centres as part of its Sparsh Sanjeevani initiative, further enhancing healthcare access in remote regions of Ladakh and Jammu & Kashmir. With the addition of these centres, HMIF’s network now includes 52 Telemedicine Centres nationwide, benefiting over 1.5 million people across rural India.
The five newly inaugurated centres include four in Ladakh—located in Kargil, Drass, Leh, and Kharu—and one in Bhalla, Jammu & Kashmir. These centres aim to provide crucial healthcare services to populations in high-altitude, hard-to-reach areas, improving access to quality medical consultations.
Puneet Anand, Vertical Head of Corporate Communication & Social at HMIL, emphasized, "Through the Sparsh Sanjeevani initiative, we are committed to Hyundai’s global vision of ‘Progress for Humanity,’ ensuring primary healthcare reaches underserved communities in some of India’s most challenging terrains."
Sparsh Sanjeevani Telemedicine Centres connect patients with specialist doctors via video consultations. The service is available at a nominal charge of Rs. 100, with follow-up consultations also included. This initiative ensures that even the most remote regions of India have access to essential healthcare.
