ManipalCigna Launches ‘Sarvah’ Health Insurance Plans with a Focus on India’s Missing Middle
New plans offer affordable, comprehensive coverage for critical illnesses and pre-existing conditions, aiming to bridge the gap for 35-40 crore individuals
ManipalCigna Health Insurance has introduced ManipalCigna Sarvah, a comprehensive health insurance solution designed to address the healthcare needs of India’s underserved population, particularly the “missing middle” segment. This segment, which includes 30% of the population or around 35-40 crore individuals, has limited access to financial protection against health risks. The new plans, Sarvah Pratham, Sarvah Uttam, and Sarvah Param, aim to bridge this gap by providing affordable, customized coverage for a wide range of health concerns.
The Sarvah offerings come with three distinct plans catering to various needs:
-
Sarvah Pratham: An essential, cost-effective plan designed to offer comprehensive coverage for major illnesses such as cancer, heart disease, stroke, and organ transplants. It includes optional coverage for pre-existing conditions like diabetes and hypertension, starting from day 31.
-
Sarvah Uttam: This plan offers extensive coverage with customizable options, including the “Anant Benefit,” which provides unlimited coverage for critical conditions like cancer, heart disease, and organ transplants. The plan also includes the “Sarathi” option, which covers pre-existing conditions from day 31.
-
Sarvah Param: Aimed at providing immediate coverage, Sarvah Param offers zero waiting periods for pre-existing conditions and specific illnesses. It also features the “Gullak” benefit, which increases the sum insured annually by up to 1000%, regardless of claims.
ManipalCigna’s Sarvah plans also offer a range of added benefits, including coverage for organ donation expenses, in-patient hospitalization, and teleconsultations with doctors. Customers can benefit from early renewal and family discounts as well.
Prasun Sikdar, Managing Director and CEO of ManipalCigna, highlighted the company’s commitment to expanding health insurance access, stating, “With Sarvah, we aim to address the affordability and accessibility challenges faced by India’s missing middle, aligning with the government’s vision of ‘Insurance for All by 2047’.”
