Star Health Insurance Strengthens Presence in Andhra Pradesh & Telangana, Targets Business Growth
Star Health Insurance, India’s largest standalone retail health insurance provider, has reinforced its footprint in Andhra Pradesh (AP) and Telangana (TG) by settling claims worth ₹3,330 crore in the last five years. With nearly 100 branches and a robust network of over 76,000 agents across the states, the company has reached over 8.17 lakh lives, supported by 1,350 employees.
The company plans to double its business in the next four years in AP and TG, focusing on innovative healthcare initiatives like home healthcare services, telemedicine, and CSR projects such as Star Arogya Digi Seva. This program targets aspirational districts in AP, including Visakhapatnam and Vizianagaram, addressing non-communicable diseases and promoting awareness about diabetes, hypertension, and iron nutrition.
Executive President Sanath Kumar emphasized the importance of these states to Star Health’s operations. "AP and TG offer a diverse population and advanced healthcare ecosystem. Our initiatives, such as the Braille-enabled 'Special Care Gold' policy and free telemedicine services, showcase our commitment to inclusive healthcare solutions," he said.
Since its inception, Star Health has processed over 1.1 crore claims, amounting to ₹52,000 crore, with ₹25 crore worth of claims settled daily. The company's Home Healthcare Service, now operational in cities like Hyderabad, Vijayawada, and Visakhapatnam, offers high-quality care at home, ensuring seamless claim processing.
With a market share of 33% and 7 million mobile app downloads, Star Health continues to pioneer accessible and innovative health insurance solutions in India.
