Hyderabad March 02: Sleuths of special operations Shamshabad, Zone along with Chevalla Police busted an inter-state drug peddler gang and almost 400 Kg Ganja, a lorry, a car, Rs 15,000 cash and others things all worth around Rs 1.10,00, 000 were recovered from their possession.

According to police, they have arrested seven members of the gang and two still at large in this case. The accused had planned to transport Ganja to Maharashtra via Hyderabad but their bid to transport ganja was foiled by police.

“On a credible information, we have busted an inter-state drug peddlers’ gang by arresting seven persons, three are still at large in this case. Subhan and Basha are the key suppliers, who handed the vehicle to their associates t,’’ said R. Jagadishwar Reddy, DCP Shamshabad Zone of Cyberabd. Adding that “We have seized almost 400 kg Ganja, Rs 15,000 cash, Indica Car, Lorry, Mobile Phones, Gold rings and silver bracelets from their possession,’’

Police asked people to inform about the drug peddlers to make the state drug-free.

“In view of youths’ addiction to drugs, an awareness programme is being conducted and asking people to come forward to make the city drug-free. I sincerely appeal to people to inform Police with regard to drug peddlers,’’ added Shamshabad, DCP.
