34th Junior National Throwball Championship – 2024: Telangana Teams Shine with Bronze Medals

The 34th Junior National Throwball Championship 2024, held at the University College of Science, Saifabad, Hyderabad, concluded on a high note with thrilling matches and a strong performance by the Telangana teams. The championship was organized by the Telangana Throwball Association and witnessed intense competition from across the nation.

In a remarkable feat, the Telangana Boys and Girls teams both secured bronze medals in their respective categories. The event was graced by several dignitaries, including the chief guest, Dr. Subeer Khan, Managing Director of SSMPE, alongside Mr. Naresh Mann, Secretary General of the Throwball Federation of India, and Sai Krishna, CEO of Budds Buddy.

  • Gold Medals: Delhi Boys and Girls teams
  • Silver Medals: Tamil Nadu Boys and Girls teams
  • Bronze Medals: Telangana Boys and Girls teams

Telangana's Path to Bronze:

In the boys’ category, Telangana displayed excellent teamwork as they triumphed over Madhya Pradesh in the third-place play-off with a commanding score of 15-09, 15-11. The girls’ team also put up a strong performance, defeating Kerala in their play-off with scores of 15-11, 15-13, securing their place on the podium.

Girls' Category:

  • 1st Semi-Final: Delhi defeated Telangana 15-13, 15-09.
  • 2nd Semi-Final: Tamil Nadu defeated Kerala 15-11, 12-15, 17-15.

Boys' Category:

  • 1st Semi-Final: Delhi defeated Telangana 15-12, 15-13.
  • 2nd Semi-Final: Tamil Nadu defeated Madhya Pradesh 15-11, 15-13.

Finals:

Girls' Final:

  • Delhi defeated Tamil Nadu 15-08, 15-10 to clinch the gold medal.

Boys' Final:

  • Delhi triumphed over Tamil Nadu 13-15, 15-11, 15-09, securing their place at the top of the podium.
