Satish Chandra Sharma to be Chief Justice of Telangana ?
Hyderabad: The collegium of the Supreme Court has recommended the name of Justice Satish Chandra Sharma as the
Chief Justice of Telangana High Court, according to highly placed sources here on Friday. Justice Sharma is currently the Acting Chief Justice of Karnataka.Along with Justice Sharma, the Collegium has also recommended appointment of seven other Chief Justices to different States. The new Chief Justices will be: Allahabad – Justice Rajesh Bindal, Calcutta – Justice Prakash Srivastava, Andhra Pradesh – Justice Prashant Kumar Mishra, Karnataka – Justice Ritu Raj Awasthi, Meghalaya – Justice Ranjit V More, Gujarat – Justice Aravind Kumar and Madhya Pradesh – Justice R V Malimath.
Five more Chief Justices are recommended to be transferred by the collegium: They are: Justice Arup Kumar Goswami – Andhra Pradesh to Chhattisgarh, Justice Mohd. Rafiq – Madhya Pradesh to Himachal Pradesh, Justice Akil Qureshi – Tripura to Rajasthan, Justice Indrajit Mahanty – Rajasthan to Tripura and Justice Biswanath
Somadder – Meghalaya to Sikkim.Justice Satish Chandra Sharma, who is to be made as the Chief Justice of Telangana hails from Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh.
