The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) is taking steps to strictly enforce this decision. Officials say it is mandatory to show a certificate of vaccination when boarding a bus or going to an office.

The Ahmedabad administration was prepared to effectively avoid the corona. Those who have not yet received a single vaccine against Kovid‌-19 have been banned from entering public buildings and using public facilities such as the civil transport service since Monday. Ahmedabad Municipal Commissioner Mukesh Kumar said those who have not been vaccinated should be allowed to enter city buses as well as the Kankaria Lek Front, Sabarmati River Front, libraries, gyms and sports complexes. AMC director Jignesh Patel said everyone over the age of 18 must have a physical Kovid vaccination certificate or e-copy on their mobile and will be allowed into offices and buses only after verifying these certificates. The decision has been widely publicized over the past few days.
