Truecaller Finally Works on iPhone with Real-Time Caller ID and Spam Blocking

Bengaluru, 22 January 2025: Truecaller, the leading global communications platform, has announced its biggest-ever update for iPhone users. The new update now enables real-time caller ID and spam blocking on iOS 18.2 and newer versions, bringing iPhone users on par with Android users in terms of functionality.

Enhanced Capabilities Through Apple's Live Caller ID Lookup Framework

This breakthrough has been made possible by Apple’s Live Caller ID Lookup framework, designed to offer live caller ID in a privacy-preserving manner. Truecaller is the first app globally to deploy this framework at scale using state-of-the-art homomorphic encryption.

A More Powerful Truecaller Experience on iPhone

Having filtered unwanted communication for 15 years, Truecaller now leverages its latest AI capabilities and extensive global database to ensure comprehensive caller identification. With this update, no call will go unidentified on iOS if Truecaller holds relevant information.

Key features introduced in the update include:

Automatic Spam Call Blocking: A long-requested feature now available to iOS users.
Enhanced Call History Search: Users can now search up to 2,000 previously identified numbers in the Phone app's Recents list.
Premium Family Plan Subscription: Users can share Truecaller Premium benefits with up to four additional members at an affordable monthly or annual fee.

How to Enable Truecaller on iOS 18.2

To enable the new features, users must:

Update to Truecaller for iPhone version 14.0 or later.
Navigate to iPhone Settings > Apps > Phone > Call Blocking & Identification.
Enable all Truecaller switches and reopen the Truecaller app.
