Hyderabad: A woman's body was discovered in Dammaiguda Lake in Hyderabad's Jawahar Nagar area on Friday, January 3.
Upon receiving information, the Jawahar Nagar police rushed to the spot and retrieved the body from the lake with the assistance of swimmers. The cause of the woman's death remains unknown at this stage.
Speaking to Siasat.com, the Jawahar Nagar police stated, “A case of affray has been registered under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and an investigation is underway.” Authorities are also cross-verifying recent missing person cases reported at local police stations.
The body has been moved to Gandhi Hospital's morgue for autopsy and preservation.
In a related incident in Telangana's Medak district, a farmer drowned in a river while attempting to repair farming equipment.
