Telangana Announces Sankranti Holidays for Schools, Colleges, and Banks

The Telangana government has declared Sankranti holidays for schools and junior colleges across Hyderabad and other districts in the state.

Holiday Schedule for Schools and Colleges

• Schools: Holidays from January 11 to January 17.
• Junior Colleges: Closed for six days starting January 11.

Additional Holidays for Educational Institutions

Following the Sankranti break, some schools and junior colleges in Hyderabad and other districts will also observe a holiday on January 25 for Shab-e-Meraj. This is an optional holiday but is likely to be observed by many minority institutions.

Although Republic Day on January 26 is a general holiday, it falls on a Sunday this year.

Bank Holidays in January

Apart from educational institutions, banks in Hyderabad will observe the following holidays:

• January 11: Second Saturday
• January 12: Sunday
• January 14: Sankranti
• January 19: Sunday
• January 25: Fourth Saturday
• January 26: Republic Day

These holidays will be applicable to all banks in Hyderabad, with Sankranti being a one-day holiday for banks on January 14.
