Formula E race scam: Officials request more time to appear before ED in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: Former Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) commissioner Arvind Kumar and its chief engineer BLN Reddy, on Thursday, January 2, requested more time to appear before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with the alleged Formula E race scam. Kumar and Reddy had been summoned by the ED for January 2 and January 3, respectively, while Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) has been asked to appear on January 7. Reports indicate that KTR is consulting with his legal experts on how to approach the case.
KTR, who served as the municipal administration minister during the previous BRS regime, has been summoned by the federal agency regarding alleged irregularities in the organization of the race in Hyderabad.
In a conversation with media personnel on January 1, KTR dismissed the allegations against him as baseless, accusing the Revanth Reddy government of attempting to frame him in false cases. He stated that he would not be intimidated by such efforts.
On December 31, the Telangana High Court reserved its order on a petition filed by KTR seeking to quash the FIR registered against him by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in the Formula E race case.
