Man Arrested for Harassing Female Junior Artist in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: A man was arrested on Thursday, January 2, for allegedly harassing a female junior artist in the Krishnanagar area of Hyderabad. The victim, originally from West Godavari in Andhra Pradesh and residing in Krishnanagar, was working in television serials in the city.

The accused, identified as 32-year-old Phani Teja, also a resident of Krishnanagar and a film industry worker, befriended the actress during a shoot. The two maintained a friendship until Teja proposed to her, which she declined.

Following her rejection, Teja allegedly began harassing the woman by sending abusive messages and videos. He further threatened to share her morphed pictures on social media if she continued to avoid him.

The Jubilee Hills police, acting on the woman’s complaint, registered a case under Sections 75 and 45 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Phani Teja was arrested, produced before the court, and remanded to judicial custody.
